Cumberland's downtown has been completely reimagined and the people's construction party Rock The Block is proud to honor Triton Construction and Carl Belt, Inc. for 18 months of amazing work on Baltimore Street and the Cas Taylor Bridge. These two strong companies are sharing Rock The Block Presenting Sponsorship with Chessie Federal Credit Union and will get a nod on stage when The Reagan Years launch this iconic '80s anthem on Saturday, October 12th along Pershing Street. Sy Seyler musician with the Reagan Years band talked with WCBC's Dave Norman about why the band chose to perform in Cumberland…
"You know Chris called me and explained situation and we thought it was great you know. We like to hear about revitalization and this construction you know that's going to open up and new business is coming we wanted to be a part of that you know. It's a positive push, there's a positive energy there and then when he brought in the tag line we built the city, wow it all made sense."
Rock the Block is a free community party and includes Cartridges Galore Tetris competition, Coney Island Weiner eating contest and a sneak preview of Cumberland's Reimagined Downtown! Free admission to all programming beginning at noon and will rock out untill 6p.m. Open alcohol carry allowed by city permit.
