Sophomore Jamie Roberts was named a Second Team Academic All-America®, announced on Tuesday by the College Sports Communicators.
Continuing to rack up the awards, Roberts was also named D2CCA Second Team All-Region, NFCA DII Atlantic Region First Team Utility/Pitcher, and First Team All-MEC as a first baseman, along with Second Team All-MEC as a pitcher. During the season, she led Frostburg in multiple categories on offense with a .418 batting average, .655 slugging percentage, 69 hits, 50 RBI, eight home runs, and 108 total bases. Roberts also went on to pick up a team-high 12 wins for a 2.50 ERA and 100 total strikeouts in 23 appearances.
She becomes just the second player in program history to receive Academic Academic All-America®, with former standout Caitlin Lovend earning the honor in 2012 and 2013.
