Police in Ridgeley, West Virginia arrested a man today following an incident on Sunday at a residence on Main Street. A male subject armed with a handgun entered a residence without permission to visit a child in common with the resident. An argument ensued and there was a struggle between a male and female for the firearm which discharged striking the male in the leg. The bullet traveled through the individual and struck a dog who also suffered minor injuries. The male subject then fled the scene. He was located at his residence and detained until EMS could transport him to UPMC to be treated for his injuries. The unnamed male has been arrested on four counts of wanton endangerment and one count of entering a residence without permission, all of which are felony charges in West Virginia. The male is currently being held in the Potomac Highlands Regional Jail in Augusta.
