A report on Wednesday showed that Baltimore City State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby and council president Nick Mosby accepted a campaign donation from the grave. According to the Baltimore Brew,  campaign finance reports showed that Marilyn received a $500 contribution in 2021 from her grandfather, Prescott Thompson who died in 2015.

The $500 check was reported as "received on November 30, 2021, by Friends of Marilyn Mosby," according to the Baltimore Brew.

The Brew said campaign reports also showed a $500 check from Thompson to the campaign of her husband, Nick in 2017.

Marilyn was indicted by a federal grand jury in January on charges of perjury related to a COVID-19 financial hardship withdrawal and a false statement on a loan application.

A jury trial is scheduled for May 2.
