Business and tourism industry professionals will be gathering at the West Virginia Schools for the Deaf and Blind on August 5 for a special summit on addressing accessibility. Ben Irwin of the Appalachian Forest Heritage Area says many tourists are disabled and businesses lack resources to serve them…
"People with disabilities make up a huge percentage of travelers tourists people that are wanting to come visit our communities but in some cases businesses or communities may not have the tools or the resources or the infrastructure that they need to welcome those travelers."
Eric Thompson of Access on the Go, a non-profit dedicated to promoting adaptive recreation and accessibility will be a featured speaker at the conference…
"He's very knowledgeable to sharing information with us about how to make your business more accessible where you can find tax credits and funding to do it and how you can easily make those changes."
