West Virginia’s Public Service Commission ruled that the troubled Piedmont Municipal Water Department is NOT a failing or distressed utility, but it must make a number of changes to bring itself into full compliance. The Commission warned that the facility may soon become distressed but it is not in current violation of water quality regulations. PSC Chairman Charlotte Lane said the commission remains concerned and watchful of the situation. WCBC has reached out to Greg Harvey, Water Commissioner for Piedmont but has not received a response. The system has been plagued with issues since the shutdown of the Verso Mill.
