That's Dick Ravenscroft, owner of Coney Market, which sold the sole winning ticket in the Wednesday Powerball drawing, worth $731.1 million.
WCBC caught up with Ravenscroft at 9:00 AM, just before Maryland Lottery officials announced which retailer sold the winning ticket. While we were there, a lottery representative told him to "get ready for the onslaught."
Coney Market will get a $100,000 bonus for selling the ticket, which Ravenscroft plans to share with his employees.
Ravenscroft hopes the ticket went to someone from the local area, given the hard economic times that has hit the region after the closing of the Luke Mill and the ongoing pandemic.
A report circulating on social media that named a local man as the holder of the winning ticket appears to have been in error, according to a post from longtime Lonaconing Mayor Jack Coburn.
