On 7/25/2024 at approximately 6:30 PM the Cumberland City Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Polk Street for an assault. Upon arrival officers made contact with victim who advised Christian Harper had struck them in the face with the side of a BB gun. Officers observed the victim to be bleeding from the face and an ambulance was requested. The victim advised they currently have a protective order against Harper. The protective order was confirmed to still be active and barred Harper from entering the victim’s residence. Deputies from the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office were able to locate Harper a short distance away and detained him. Harper advised he knew the protective order was still active. Harper was arrested and transported to the Allegany County Detention Center. Harper was seen before a District Court Commissioner and held on a $15,000.00 bond. The victim declined any further medical treatment while on scene.
