On Tuesday, the Cumberland Police Department served an arrest warrant on Melissa Saunders. The warrant was issued in connection with a missing person/fugitive investigation that began on May 18, 2022. Investigation revealed that Saunders was harboring the subject at her residence. Charges were filed against Saunders and a warrant was issued. She was arrested and later transported to Central Booking. Saunders was seen by a District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center on a $2,500 bond.

On Sunday June 5th, 2022, officers of the Cumberland Police Department served and Arrest Warrant on Kristie Lynn Dawson. The Arrest Warrant was issued by the District Court stemming from a theft on June 1st, 2022. During the incident officers responded to the teen block of Queen City Pavement where they spoke with the victim of the incident. The victim advised that Dawson had taken their identification card, checks, as well as other items. The victim also advised that the check was cashed and the officer as able to obtain of evidence this, and completed an application for charges against Dawson. Dawson was taken before a District Court Commissioner where she was released on a $2,500 unsecured bond.
Arrest: Kristie Lynn Dawson, age 36, Cumberland Maryland.
Charges: Forgery, Issue False Document, and Four Counts of Theft Less Than $100.
