On Wednesday January 19, 2022 an officer with the Cumberland Police was on patrol when he observed a vehicle with an equipment malfunction. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. When he contacted the driver, the officer detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Based on this observation a probable cause search was conducted. The search yielded 327 grams of marijuana along with other paraphernalia. The operator of the vehicle, Jared Austin Burgoyne, age 22 of Cumberland MD was placed under arrest for Possession of Marijuana and Possession with the Intent to Distribute. He was taken before the District Court Commissioner for his initial appearance and released on $1,500 unsecured bond.

On August 20th officers of the Cumberland Police Department served an Arrest Warrant on Belen Marie Waybright. The Arrest Warrant was issued by the District Court when Waybright failed to appear for her trial on August 19th, 2021. Once Waybright was placed under arrest officers located controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia. Waybright was issued a Criminal Citation for possession of paraphernalia and taken before a District Court Commissioner where she was held on a $2,000 bond.
