According to reporting on ESPN.com, the Pittsburgh Pirates have traded long-time starting pitcher Rich Hill to the San Diego Padres along with first baseman Ji Man Choi for first baseman Alfonso Rivas and two minor league pitching prospects.  Hill was 7-10 for the Pirates with a 4.76 ERA. 

In other MLB trade news, the NY Mets traded starting pitcher Jason Verlander to the Houston Astros a day after trading fellow-starter Max Scherzer to the Texas Rangers.

The MLB trade deadline ends today at 6pm.
