Since 1969 the Pittsburgh Pirates have trained in Bradenton, Florida and the city and Manatee County are bracing for Hurricane Milton. Bradenton will utilize Pirate City as an emergency operation center, with between 80 to 100 police officers using the complex as their home base. Pirate City was rebuilt in 2008. Former Pittsburgh manager Clint Hurdle lives in the Bradenton area and he told the Pittsburgh Post Gazette he evacuated Monday and moved inland.
