PharmaCare has made the decision to close their location at UMPC Western Maryland. The pharmacy has been at the hospital for 15 years. Jennifer Hare of PharmaCare tells WCBC that a combination of Big Pharma, diminishing reimbursements from insurance companies, as well as maintenance and staffing forced the decision. She also points to changing retail habits…
"Look at what’s happened over the years. People are spending their money online, they’re buying through Amazon, they’re buying through Walmart – again, what’s convenient for them. The purchasing habits of your customer has changed.”
Hare stressed that no jobs will be lost and that there are five other locations of PharmaCare in the area.
