The Pennsylvania Department of Education has rescinded an order that teachers undergo training in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and incorporating DEI guidelines and Critical Race Theory into their curriculums or risk losing funding. The guidelines were originally introduced in 2022 and were legally challenged by three school districts. The mediated settlement states that school systems are encouraged but not required to implement the guidelines.
