On Saturday, November 1st, 2024, the Cumberland Police Department arrested Shayna Cherry Fitzwater, 24, of Cumberland, MD. Fitzwater was arrested on an active Parole Retake Warrant issued by the Maryland Parole Commission on October 25th. The warrant alleged Fitzwater violated the terms of her parole/mandatory supervision stemming from a previous conviction on charges of assault and escape. Fitzwater was transported to the Allegany County Detention Center where she awaits transfer to a state facility.
