The Allegany County Board of Education’s new COVID-19 guidelines has some parents concerned. The reopening plan was presented and unanimously approved by the school board at its regular public meeting this week and it included making mask wearing voluntary unless COVID exposure is probable and testing is recommended. A parent addressing the board said that requiring a student who has contracted COVID to wear a mask upon returning to school could make the child a target for ridicule and harassment. He said it could also lead to legal problems for the school system…
