West Virginia is celebrating Spooky Season with the launch of its Paranormal Trail. Residents and tourists can take advantage of the initiative designed to help spook-seekers discover the state’s scariest sites. An accompanying digital passport allows visitors to check in at haunted locations, earning points and unlocking exciting prizes along the way. State Tourism Director Chelsea Ruby says the Trail is a new way to get people to explore the Mountain State…
“There’s 14 spots around the state. So there’s a couple that you’re familiar with, you’ve heard of – the Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum, the Penitentiary. We’ve got some haunted hotels, an abandoned hospital, an abandoned amusement park. And we’ve got some cryptids. So, things like Mothman, the Flatwoods Monster, and even Big Foot in Clay County.”
