Maryland schools have until the end of September to allocate the remainder of federal money received during the pandemic – or risk losing it back to the government. Maryland and other states are on the clock to get the money spent, allocated or ask for an extension. States have until January 2025 to liquidate their funds or ask for an extension until March of 2026.
