BENCH WARRANT SERVED
On Friday, November 24, 2023, the Cumberland Police Department served a bench warrant on Cory Sisk. The warrant was issued as the result of Sisk violating probation. He was originally charged with Assault-2nd Degree. Sisk was arrested and later seen by a District Court Commissioner for a bond hearing. Sisk was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center on a $500 bond. ARRESTED: Cory Alex Sisk AGE: 31 Cresaptown, MD

Winter Market coming to Cumberland
A new event is coming to the area for the holiday season – a Winter Market. The event was initially conceived by DeDe Richie of the Canal Place Preservation Authority and Melinda Kelleher of the Downtown Development Commission. The Winter Market will take place on the first two Saturdays of December on the Canal Place Plaza, starting at 5pm and feature over 20 vendors. Maryland Public Service Commission exploring relief to customers on limited income
Maryland’s Public Service Commission has opened a new proceeding to explore ways that could provide relief to utility customers on a limited income. The commission is seeking ideas and suggestions on what mechanisms relief could entail from customers, advocates, elected officials and social justice organizations. PSC Chair Frederick Hoover said in a release that energy affordability is a priority of the Commission and the comments received will lead to solutions for Maryland families. More than three thousand West Virginia homes and businesses participate in rooftop solar net metering programs. A new proposal by Mon Power and Potomac Edison would slash energy credits for solar in half. The Biden administration implemented new federal tax credits last year for installing residential solar panels but electric companies are seeking to do the opposite. Mon Power and Potomac Edison are proposing to cut the energy credits to homes and businesses that have solar panels by half. Counterfeit Currency discovered in Cumberland
Cash register operators and business owners be aware, Counterfeit currency has been discovered in our region complicating the holiday shopping season. A financial disaster for any small busines providing services or merchandise only to find out when they make their bank deposits the cash is fake. Locally one dollar bills are being passed off as one hundred dollar bills after the forger washes them. Virginia Avenue Sheetz Arrest
On November 23, 2023 Officers of the Cumberland Police were dispatched to Sheetz on Virginia Avenue for a report of a trespassing complaint. Officers made contact with the store manager who stated that the subject was asked numerous times to leave the business. Officers then made contact with the subject. The subject refused to communicate with the Officers and refused to provide his name. The subject had an open beverage from the business that he failed to purchase. On November 23, 2023 Officers of the Cumberland Police Department served two Bench Warrants for failure to appear on Keri Ann Donaldson. The original incident was investigated by the Cumberland Police. The Original charges were CDS: possession not Cannabis. Donaldson was transported to Central Booking.
