After months of speculation and passing the original deadline, the Baltimore Orioles took the opportunity during their 100th win of the season to announce a deal keeping the team in Baltimore for at least 30 more years. John Angelos and the state of Maryland had gone back and forth for some time about the lease – that includes $600 million in bond money for improvements to Oriole Park plus other improvements that Angelos is looking to for the area around the stadium, possibly creating a live-work-play area similar to that around the Atlanta Braves field. The announcement came as the Orioles clinched the American League East Championship.
