City officials rolled out a number of new  grant offerings in recent months for downtown business owners wanting to make upgrades to their properties. The Downtown Comprehensive Investment Program, which contains funds from the city of Cumberland, Allegany County and state of Maryland, was announced by the Cumberland Economic Development Corporation in October and includes several phases and covers a wide range of areas in which the money can be used.
