Seventeen non-profit groups will benefit from monies donated to them by the Mayor and City Council. Disbursements from the hotel/motel tax receipts totaling $45,000 were divided among the groups who applied for funding earlier in the year. Those groups receiving funding include Allegany Allied Arts, Cumberland Jaycees, Friends Aware, Mountainside Baroque and the Schoolhouse Quilters Guild. Community groups can apply annually for a portion of the hotel/motel tax receipts.
