National Night Out continues its celebration this evening with an event taking place in front of the Salvation Army on Sommerville Avenue between First and Fourth Streets. The National Night Out program enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement, growing a sense of community in cities across the nation. Captain James Burt of the Cumberland Police says tonight’s event starts at 5pm and will feature over 90 vendors from local businesses and agencies…
Residents are also encouraged to have their porch lights on from dusk till dawn to increase safety and reduce criminal activity.
