WBAL TV reports the man accused of killing three people wanted to confront his brother, who he's accused of killing, based on his profession and COVID-19 vaccines. That is according to court papers obtained by WBAL News.
Jeffrey Allen Burnham, 46, was arrested in West Virginia after a manhunt last week. He was extradited Tuesday back to Allegany County on charges of murder and auto theft.
Burnham is accused of killing three people in Maryland: Rebecca Reynolds, 83, in Cumberland, and his brother, Brian Robinette, and sister-in-law, Kelly Robinette, in Ellicott City.
The court papers indicate Burnham was charged in Howard County with two counts each of first- and second-degree murder and use of a handgun in commission of a crime.
Court papers indicate Burnham wanted to confront his brother based on his brother's profession as a pharmacist and him administering COVID-19 vaccines. Court papers indicate Burnham wanted to confront his brother about the government "poisoning people with COVID vaccines" and that he repeatedly stated, "Brian knows something."
The charging documents state that Burnham believed his brother was "killing people with the COVID shot," according to a tipster who called Maryland State Police.
According to charging documents, police found Reynolds lying on her couch with a pillow over her face with her throat slit. The documents state Reynolds' car was found the next day parked around the corner from where the Robinettes lived. Howard County police said the Robinettes were fatally shot before Burnham stole their red Corvette and drove it to West Virginia, where he was captured.
Burnham lived with his mother, Evelyn Burnham, in Cumberland. Police said she told investigators that Burnham made statements about having to return Reynolds' car. She also told them she was worried "due to Jeffrey making statements about the FBI coming after him and Evelyn." The document states Jeffrey was making statements that concerned her about her son's mental stability.
According to the court documents, police said they found an empty box for a .40-caliber Smith and Wesson handgun in Jeffrey Burnham's residence.
Friends of the Robinettes have set up a GoFundMe page for their two children, who are young adults
