Cumberland Mayor Ray Morriss says that he is going to run again for Mayor of the City of Cumberland. Speaking with WCBC, Morriss said he is proud of what the city has been able to do and wants to continue that progress…
“At this point in time, I’ll be running for Mayor one more term. If the citizens of Cumberland accept what’s been going on for the last 6 years, and I hope they do, then chances are likely, I’ll be running for one more term.”
Morriss put to rest rumors that he was going to be running for Allegany County Commissioner, but did say the door is open to considering a run for the Maryland House of Delegates…
“To be honest, yes. I would have to consider that. That’s a critical position especially for representation for the City of Cumberland in Annapolis. I’ve worked pretty hard in the last 6 years to develop relationships with people in Annapolis. If for some reason that job was available, then without question I’d would consider it. I’m not saying I’d do it, but I’d have to consider it.”
