More Land For Wills Mountain State Park

March 3rd, 2025 by WCBC Radio

More acreage has been acquired for the growing Wills Mountain State Park on the edge of Cumberland.  The Maryland Board of Public Works approved $205,000 to buy 103.8 acres from the Navarre Minerals Company.  With the recent acquisition of the former Artmor Plastics property, the park now has around 625 acres. The land will be managed by the Maryland Park Service. Public access to the land for hiking, biking, and other activities has yet to be established and it is presently closed to the public.
