Maryland Governor Wes Moore visited with students in Frederick County recently, inviting them to ask questions. An Oakdale High School student pointedly asked whether education funding was going to be cut in the coming budget. It took Moore by surprise, but he reassured students that education is a priority for the state…
“We are not going to cut our schools short. If you want to have economic growth, fund education. There are two decisions you can make – either slow the growth or invest in the growth. We decided to take the latter. We are going to have a bipartisan balanced budget while still making historic investments in public education.”
