Moore Gives County A Shout-Out

August 22nd, 2024 by WCBC Radio

While speaking at the recent Maryland Association of Counties Conference in Ocean City, Maryland Governor Wes Moore took time to reflect on both the good and bad times the state has faced this year, including budget cuts.

He also reflected on how the state came together when the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapsed in March, killing six construction workers. Moore said he heard from someone in Allegany County with words of support…

"From our friends over in Allegany County and it spoke to that moment that we found ourselves in. And the post read: we may be separated by counties, stretches of miles of interstate between us, they, the city, us, the mountains, yet we bond over our flag, we bond over old bay, we bond over Maryland blue crabs, and being a small but mighty state.  So my fellow Marylanders, that’s what it means to be Maryland Tough."
