Fall trout stocking is happening in West Virginia over the next two weeks. The West Virginia Department of Natural Resources will stock 40 different lakes around the state with 35,000 pounds of trout weighing 1-2 pounds and 6,500 pound of monster trout weighing in at 3-6 pounds. The third annual Monster Trout Contest will be taking place and Governor Jim Justice reminds anglers to submit their catch to the DNR for a chance to win prizes…
“If you just happen to reel in one of our Monster Trout, submit your entry to the West Virginia DNR website because that’ll put you eligible for cabin stays and stuff like that at our state parks or different prizes from Cabela’s. So get out and enjoy the unbelievable outdoors.”
