On April 5th, 2025 at approximately 02:24 a.m. an officer from the Cumberland Police Department heard a disturbance near Merchants Alley and Mechanic Street. When the officer went to locate the source of the disturbance, they observed an assault occurring. The officer then attempted to affect an arrest on the assailant. The unknown assailant was able to break free from the officer and as they gave chase another male pushed the officer. The officer was disrupted from the fleeing suspect and informed the male that pushed them that he was under arrest. The officer was able to place Kevin William Page Sr. under arrest for the assault, after a brief foot chase. Page was later transported to District Court for a bail review and was released on $5,000 unsecured bond.

CHARGES: Assault 2nd degree- law enforcement officer, Disorderly Conduct, Failure to obey a reasonable lawful order, Obstructing and hindering.

On March 16th, 2023 officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 400 block of Mechanic Street for a reported assault. Upon their arrival they spoke with the victims in the incident. The victims advised that Roger Williams had assaulted them, and officers were able to observe evidence of the assault. Williams was placed under arrest and taken before a District Court Commissioner where he was held on $5000.
Arrest: Roger Martin Williams JR, age 45, Cumberland Maryland
Charge: Two counts of Assault Second Degree.
