Recreational Cannabis sales in Maryland recorded a strong first month of sales with the huge sum of over $87 million being spent on the substance. Legalized in July, recreational cannabis is currently allowed to be sold through those businesses that hold a license to dispense medical marijuana, though applications for new dispensary licenses are being processed through the state’s systems. The Maryland Cannabis Administration released a report showing that the first weekend of legalized sales resulted in over $10 million in sales of medical and adult-use weed, ramping up quickly to the month-end retail sales total of $87.4 million.
