Maryland’s Federal Workers Bracing For Trump Administration

President-elect Donald Trump’s plan to streamline the federal government is prompting concerns in Maryland. The state is home to one of the highest concentrations of federal workers in the country – right around 140,000. Otis Johnson, with the American Federation of Government Employees, says cuts to the workforce in the state will hurt services like Social Security and Veterans’ programs…

"You can’t run the United States government the same way that you run Twitter. We represent over 800,000 federal workers, and we can’t remove 80% and still expect to be able to serve the American people with the same proficiency and knowledge that they have right now."
