The Maryland Municipal League (MML), which represents the State’s 157 cities and towns and two special taxing districts that are home to 1.5 million Marylanders, returns in-person to host the 2022 MML Summer Conference, June 12-15 in Ocean City, Maryland.
The annual Summer Conference offers workshops and networking events for members, including mayors, city and town council leaders, and other municipal government leaders from across Maryland. Municipal leaders from across the state will gather to discuss important issues and legislative priorities, participate in valuable education and network with peers.
The 2022 MML Summer Conference will support attendees as they navigate ARPA planning and spending challenges, discuss police reform, address mental health and public safety issues, learn more about grant administration and where to find grants that support municipality efforts, as well as how to move their communities forward in a post-COVID world. The full agenda is available at mdmunicipal.org.
“We are excited to welcome everyone back to Ocean City and reconnect in person for a collaborative and informative Summer Conference,” said Scott Hancock, Executive Director of MML. “By participating in MML’s Conference, attendees will have the opportunity to take a deeper dive into addressing key issues that are most relevant to their residents, while continuing to build skills that will improve their ability to serve their municipalities.”
In addition to daily workshops and learning sessions, the 2022 MML Summer Conference will feature a forum with Maryland gubernatorial candidates on Tuesday, June 14, followed by closing general session remarks later that afternoon from keynote speaker, Governor Larry Hogan.
