A report released from the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference in Amsterdam this week shows some worrisome numbers for Marylanders. Two of the top five counties in the country for Alzheimer diagnosis are in the state. Both Baltimore City and Prince Georges County have over 16% of their populations suffering with the disease. And Maryland ranks overall as the highest of all states for Alzheimer cases at 12.9%. Marlyn Taylor of the Alzheimer’s Association told reporters that the high rate in Baltimore City is because of the high population of African-Americans and their high rate of heart disease that can be a precursor to Alzheimers…
