The Maryland House of Delegates approved a controversial bill while in session over the weekend: the Trans Health Equity Act. It requires the state's Medicaid program to cover the cost of gender-affirming treatment. Similar legislation failed to make headway last year in the General Assembly but was approved by the House overwhelming Saturday by a vote of 93-to-37.
