Maryland Delegate Terry Baker has been in the House of Delegates since 2023. He recently shared his thoughts on the financial crisis facing the state, saying that many times bills pass that do not do much more than allow for the hiring of more government workers. “Since I’ve been there they’ve had an increase of approximately 350 new taxes, fee increases, new fees, and the increases are substantial. Just look at your registration – it went from $175 every two years, now it’s $350. It doubled.”
