Maryland CHART Helps Drivers See Road Conditions

November 22nd, 2024 by WCBC Radio

Maryland is experiencing its first major snow event today as western Allegany and Garrett counties could receive up to a foot of the white stuff.  Drivers who need to head in that direction have a way to check road conditions before setting out, according to State Highway Administration spokesman Charlie Gischlar…

“If you’re planning a trip that you can’t get out of and you got to travel, go slow, use the low gears, and go to our website at roads.maryland.gov then you can click on the CHART icon –C.H.A.R.T. That will show you if there are any incidents on the road, so you can plan on an alternate route. And it will also give you access to the traffic cameras out there in Western Maryland so you can kind of see for yourself what the roads are like.”
