On Thursday, August 1st, 2024, an officer with the Cumberland Police Department observed an equipment violation on a grey Mitsubishi passenger car. A traffic stop was initiated in the 400 block of Maryland Ave, and contact made with the operator, Christie Renee Gibson, 49, of Cumberland MD. During the course of the stop, Gibson admitted to having CDS materials in her possession. During a subsequent search, an amount of suspected methamphetamine was located on Gibson. As a result, Gibson was then placed under arrest and issued a criminal citation for the offense. After being served, Gibson was released, pending trial in District Court.
