Maryland added 2.700 total jobs in September, all in the private sector, according to the U.S. Department of Labor Statistics. The state’s unemployment rate remains 2.9%, one of the lowest in the nation. As of now, Maryland’s employment has grown 1.2%, slightly ahead of the national rate of 1.1%. Maryland’s September job growth came in the Arts, Entertainment, and Recreation sectors. Job losses occurred in Administration and Support, Waste Management, and Remediation.
