Long-time community activist Mary Miltenberger passed away earlier this month at the age of 90. She was known as a passionate advocate for historic preservation, fighting against the destruction of the Queen City Hotel in the 1970s as well as Saints Peter and Paul monastery. She also was a frequent attendee at City Council and County Commission meetings and organized several grass roots efforts for different causes. She is survived by seven children. A memorial service is scheduled for next Spring.
