A notice in Maryland’s WARN log – a required notice from employers planning to lay off 50 or more employees – indicates that the Marriott Corporation is planning on letting over 800 workers go in January. Marriott is in the midst of a companywide restructuring designed to enhance effectiveness and efficiency, according to the company’s CEO. Marriott previously laid off more than 600 employees at its Maryland headquarters in 2020.
