Calman Dennis McKenzie, 28, of Cumberland was arrested after being designated to Allegany County’s Most Wanted list. He was served eight (8) warrants total. Two (2) Circuit Court Bench Warrants for Violation of Probation and four (4) District Court Bench Warrants for Failure to Appear. His original charges include: Theft, Rogue and Vagabond, Resisting Arrest, Fail to Obey Lawful Order, Obstruction and Hinding, CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia and several traffic offenses.
According to the District Court Arrest Warrant he was also charged with Fleeing and Eluding Uniform Police by failing to stop and Fleeing Eluding on Foot, as well as numerous traffic violations related to a motor vehicle crash. Additionally, Mr. McKenzie was wanted by MSP McHenry Barrack on a District Court Arrest Warrant for Theft and MSP Cumberland Barrack had a District Court Criminal Summons for Theft. Allegany County Combined Warrant Unit received information that McKenzie was staying at a motel in the LaVale area. Upon arrival at the Motel, McKenzie was observed on Security Cameras entering the elevator. Deputies and Troopers waited on the first floor of the establishment and when the elevator opened Deputes and Troopers attempted to place McKenzie under arrest. McKenzie resisted arrest by attempting to pull away. After a very brief struggle, McKenzie was handcuffed and transported to the Allegany County Detention Center where he is currently held without bond. McKenzie was charged with additional charges of Resisting Arrest and Disorderly Conduct.
