A major announcement is expected Friday on a new business coming to the area and taking over the Hunter Douglas factory property. Allegany County Commission President Dave Caporale read a brief statement at the end of the Commissioner’s meeting Thursday evening…
“The Hunter Douglas building has been sold. It’s something that’s been coming out for some time. I think it may have been reported on already. Our staff has worked closely with their team over the last several months to insure this move is profitable and beneficial to us and them. Governor Moore and his staff will be having a press release officially tomorrow morning that will have a lot more of the details regarding this.”
Commissioner Bill Atkinson told WCBC news that the building will need some changes for the new business, but is excited for its future in the county…
“It’s a big company. An international company that purchased the building. We’ll be doing some renovations and remodeling, adding on to it. Projected a hundred jobs to start.”
