A full moon lunar eclipse will be visible overnight Thursday into early Friday.  This is when the Earth passes between the sun and the moon and casts a shadow on the moon.  While the eclipse gets underway around 1 a.m., the moon won't appear red until 2:30-3:30 a.m.
