Despite concerns to the contrary, there were no widespread problems with ballots or voter intimidation last November- however there were some isolated incidents including one in Allegany County. That case finally went to court last week- however one of the victims has some concerns with how the states attorneys office handled the situation. John Fetchero, a Republican who has been active in party politics for years, reported that on election day, he and some fellow supporters of GOP Gubernatorial candidates were harassed and assaulted by a woman at the LaVale Volunteer Fire Company Polling Place. He filed charges and after a couple of continuances the case was finally before a judge earlier this month- but Fetchero told WCBC’s “Dave Norman Show” that he was not happy with the result which he viewed as a slap on the wrist…
Fetchero said while he respects States Attorney James Elliot, he believes some of his staff may have allowed politics to play a part in this case…
