Cumberland’s lobbyist in Annapolis, Rich Reinhardt of Percy Public Affairs, gave an update to the Mayor and Council on several directed investments for the city in the state’s proposed budget. One of these is the needed 70-inch Mill Race pipeline for the combined sewer overflow system. Reinhardt said that after bringing the project up for the past two years, it looks like there is now a commitment from the state…

   

“Two-point-one million dollars in the Maryland Water Quality Revolving Loan Program and that is for the 70-inch parallel pipeline from Mill Race to combine sewer overflow shortages.  That’s construction money, essentially.”
