The State of Maryland is letting farmers in the state know that low-interest federal financial assistance from the U.S. Department of Agriculture is available to assist Maryland farmers in central and western counties.
Farmers in Allegany, Garrett, and Washington counties that are experiencing drought conditions are eligible for emergency loans that may be used to meet recovery needs including replacing essential equipment or livestock or refinancing certain debts. More information is available at farmers.gov.
