The City of Cumberland Engineering Department, on behalf of Triton Construction, would like to notify the public that demolition and utility work in conjunction with the downtown mall project is set to begin on Liberty Street on Thursday, November 2nd. As such, Liberty Street between Frederick Street and Pershing Street will be closed to thru traffic from Thursday at 6AM to Friday at 4PM.
Beginning on November 6th, Liberty Street (between Frederick St. and Pershing St.) will be closed to thru traffic each week from Monday at 6AM to Friday at 4PM. The street will reopen each Friday evening and re-close each Monday morning. Signage will be in place to detour passenger vehicles around the road closure. Pedestrians will still be permitted on Liberty Street, but will be re-routed around the construction zone.
An additional press release will be issued when the weekly closure is ending.
