Legislators will try again this General Assembly session to pass bills to regulate drug prices in Maryland. The Prescription Drug Affordability Board already has powers to control some pricing on state agency healthcare plans, but Maryland Healthcare For All, a coalition of state groups would like those powers extended to all Marylanders. Delegate Bonnie Cullison says there are bills in both the House and Senate this year…
“Unlike other products, I can’t shop around for the lowest price. The fact that life-saving drugs do not have market competitors should not be the determining factor in pricing. We need them for our personal health and wellbeing.”
