Officers of the Cumberland City Police Department responded to a disturbance just passed 2 a.m. Saturday in the area of the Merchants Alley parking lot. Officers arrived and found a number of individuals involved in a large altercation and requested additional assistance from Allegany County Sheriff's office. 911 operators receiving a number of calls on the disturbance, one caller report that an individual brandished a firearm. Officers ordered the crowd to disperse and at that time it was discovered a number of individuals injured during an assault. Cumberland Fire Department responded with an EMS unit and treated the individuals on scene. Law Enforcement has not released any information regarding this incident, the status of the investigation or any arrest made in the Saturday morning altercation.
